Morelia México

Morelia is the capital of the state of Michoacan in Mexico. Morelia is a hidden treasure of Mexico and a colonial masterpiece. Its well-maintained historic district was recognized as a Unesco World Heritage site in 1991. The charming streets of the city center are filled with 16th and 17th-century Spanish Baroque architecture, crafted in pink volcanic stone. These stunning structures are home to museums, restaurants, hotels, and sidewalk cafes. The cathedral, situated at Zocalo or Plaza de los Martires, is a blend of Neo-Classical and Baroque architecture. Some argue that this cathedral is the most beautiful in Mexico. The Aqueduct is a remarkable structure located at the eastern end of Avenida Madero. This massive structure was erected in the 17th century to transport water into the city from hillside springs. The aqueduct consists of 253 arches and still supplies the fountain of the Villalongin garden. Morelia is a delightful city with pleasant weather, exceptional contemporary Mexican cuisine, inviting parks for relaxation, beautiful fountains scattered throughout, a wealth of local crafts, and very hospitable residents. All things considered, what's not to love?
